My wardrobe is full of size 12's through to size 22's. I've only kept my absolute favourites of the smaller sizes all these years but now I'm size 18 I'm enjoying having them - it won't be too expensive when I reach my goal that way but I did tell hubby I will be shouting myself some new outfits as a reward because we have a boutique in town that has the most gorgeous clothes but only up to size 14-16 so I can ony drool and stare via window shopping at present but guess where I'll be shopping when I reach goal.

mmmm i seem to be running out of clothes already...still trying to get away with the size 18's but honestly they are all a bit big. I did go and get one pair of pants in a 16 but will have to buy a few more things so i don't look like a walking saggy baggy!

Well although I've got probably more clothes than I need - I was shopping at the pre and post Christmas sales and when you can get great pants for $4.50 and tops for under $10, why would you not buy them - I've been a naughty girl but I decided it was a deserved treat! I'm likely the size 14/16.

It's time for a "bump" (a new post that brings it up top of the list again).

This is such a good topic - and the positive emotion that results from "looking good" can only help (but then, I'm a MM - so what would I know :P Umm, well, I KNOW what I like to see - and that is women who are happy, confident, and vibrant - and showing themselves rather than hiding themselves - says SO MUCH about their confidence in themselves )

Anyway, for new readers, go right back to post #1 in this thread, then read on down - that way you get to understand what this is all about....

Great plan.
I changed from size 16 to size 12. Had a few 14's in my wardrobe, but they were looking a bit tatty. Soooo... I threw out the big stuff and bought some jeans. Does make one feel great. Shows off the new and improved figure and all that jazz.
It does take courage to do though.(throw out the big stuff) but boy, does it take a load off. So now I am the new me and I am so chuffed I even have the courage for the finishing stretch.
And you are so right about the positive emotion, it is a true tonic.

I do agree that one could having clothing altered, but boy, I promise you it will have not a patch on the feeling you have when you invest in a new wardrobe ( even if it is just a couple of jeans and some tops)

Yeh gotta have decent fitting pants at the very least! Nothing worse than walking around with baggy pants

I LOVE buying new clothes & I'm spoilt that hubby likes me to have them. He can't stand me wearing jeans or pants that hang down like poo catchers (heh).. he reckons that I should always have clothes that fit nice because it will make me feel better.

I buy bargains if/when I can find them. I wont buy anything expensive till I reach my goal. I buy & sell on ebay often. The money I get back I put towards new clothes. You can find some awesome bargains & get some pretty decent clothes if you hunt around.

Today I wore this pretty silvery grey coloured short sleeved top & black pants.. all very fitted & at first I felt a bit self conscience but then I got all these wonderful & incredible compliments.. I felt fantastic. I use to always dress frumpy & it makes you look bigger than you really are..

I'm all for the new clothes. great topic Pandora

Today I looked at my lingerie drawer and threw out all those larger undies, they are too baggy ....... definitely thrown out for good.
My bras are still acceptable but I'm wearing them on the smallest setting (you know what I mean) .... a few more weeks and new bras will be needed.

I had the best experience this morning. Took a pair of pants out the wardrobe, that had been too tight to wear. I thought they might fit me now. Surprise surpise, can't wear them they are too big....much too big.

I've bought so many new clothes from the sales and when I decided to go through all the clothes I've had stored away because they were too small I've not discovered most are too big. You could honestly open a clothes store with the amount of clothes I have to give away. My daughter suggested I iron them and sell them on e-bay as there as some lovely tops and pants but no way am I standing there ironing something I won't even be wearing. I hate ironing! The unbelieveable thing is hubby just added new hanging area in the walk-in robe and I can now hang everything I own up and it still looks like a half a clothes shop - yes I admit it I've too many clothes. I don't dare buy another thing!

I too have hit the shops harder than I'd planned along the way, including today. Got a real surprise and bought a size 6, yes 6, pair of sportscraft shorts. Then had to get size 8 in another cut a same brand shorts.
I have a washing basket on the bedroom floor that is full and waiting for the trip to the salvos. This will be the second basket I've taken out of my wardrobe. Now to attack the tshirt drawer that I can barely close.

It feels great to be able to see all the hanging clothes, and be able to wear them, without standing there saying no that's too tight etc!!

Hi all,

I'm new here and waiting for my program. I do find shopping a good form of therapy for the mind and body... instead of eating.

I have already started planning my holiday in July 07 in bangkok so that i can buy in bulk and have a completely new wardrobe for the "new" ME

I live in Singapore which is summer all year round and have always avoid holidaying in the winter country as I feel that i look so big and ugly in the many layers of winter clothes. My reward to myself for completing this program will be a trip to Canada in the winter... and doll myself up in pretty winter clothes

With so many new readers, it is time for another "bump" (a post that brings this up to the top in the "Tips, Tricks and Recipes forum")

For you new people, go back to the #1 post from Pandora which sets the scene. Her comments make SO much good sense. Then read on down. There are MANY more good comments from many more good people...

Also, all you new ones, DON'T be a stranger to your wardrobe - on Cohens, your weight drop is SO fast that you could bypass many "old clothes" so quickly that, by the time you get to checking them out, they are WAY too big for you.

Make it a weekly or two-weekly job to "recheck the wardrobe" (and YES it really does move THAT fast !!!)

Default New clothes.... aaaahhhh....

I went to an "Undercover Wear" party on the weekend and bought 4 items of clothes in size 14 - as I'm currently a size 26 it will be very interesting to see how long it is before I can wear them......
