Default Re: Constipation and Bowel movement questions?

Eat kiwi fruit. They are a natural way to keep your movements soft and regular. Best thing is that you can halve your allowance and have some for one meal and some at another and still have another piece of fruit, depending on your fruit allowance. I have been doing this from the beginning and have never suffered constipation and of course water is the other best thing to help.

Just wondering if Lactulose is a brand of a product or the generic name of the laxative/constipation reliever? I was really confused at the pharmacy today, saw so many brands. In the end I bought Senokot (not so good I know) but I really need to relieve my constipation

I will look for Senna tea at the organic shop this week, and also see what exactly is Lactulose all about.

Hi - I don't have much experience at this yet, but in three weeks I've found that fibogel, increased water at the time of taking the fibogel (all out of the daily 3 litres), then eating spinach for all my vegies that day and apple for all my fruit allowance. Seemed to work.

And I'll definitely try the kiwi's too next time (in about 2 days!)

Oh what fun!

Hi Callian! I tried eating a kiwi yesterday and about 15 minutes after eating I had the urge to move my bowels. Not looking forward to it as I knew it would be painful. It was but not as bad as the previous rounds. The bleeding not much, but still painful.

Today I ate my full serve of kiwi listed in my program, it worked out to be about 1 and 3/4 kiwis, wow and after another 15 minutes (while surfing the net), I had the urge to move my bowels and yippee!!! It was not painful at all and my bowels were soft like before! AMMAAZZIING!!!

I so love this forum. Will definitely be buying lots of kiwis to store in the fridge. Best part is, they keep really well. I would prefer NZ kiwis but what we have here seems to be from Italy?

Storing my Senokot away for now. Its great to find a natural cure!
