So I caved in and weighed myself today...after a mighty slip up on Friday I was dying to see the scales...deviation aside (and certainly no excuse for it) but my stats are brilliant!

Since January this year I've lost 7.6kg and 26 cm!! I haven't been weighing myself for fear of self sabbotage both good and bad outcomes but I also feel I need to recognise my efforts so far!

Started today, Saturday, as if it were any weekday to keep my momentum up for the weekend. I really want to get 100kg before a trip to Perth in mid-March. I'm going for a joint 30th birthday party so no doubt there will be indulgences but then I hope I'll maintain under 100kg (and be even further under) for my own 30th birthday at the end of March!! I always have to have goals in the forefront of my mind or I can lose the plot a little.

Sabotaged myself over the weekend - I even had the mindfulness to know it was happening when it was happening but I did nothing to stop it. I have to laugh at how predictable my behaviours is. Live and learn!

Well done on your first weigh in Jem! 7.6 kilos is fantastic!! Don't worry too much about the weekend slip up... the most important thing is to get back to plan immediately and aim NOT to deviate from then on!

You are doing great! I hope you have a great time in Perth for the party!!! (Perth is my home city )

Hi skinnytobe.
Yep you guessed I love food but not always the cooking (mostly the eating!!) so for easy prep (and to stay on plan) I prep for the same foods everyday. As the weeks roll on I also have a preferred brekkie (boiled egg and celery sticks) and lunch (tuna, spinach, tomato, cucumber). I tend to make a new dinner dish each week to keep any boredom at bay.

Thank Allie. Very encouraging words!! I know overall I have more on days than off but I do desperately wish I was more consistent. An indirect weight loss goal for me!

On another note the hormonal switch for the month has switched - no longer having overwhelming cravings and feeling satisfied and energetic. This is the first month in many months where PMS hasn't been completely debilitating - perhaps a sign of hormone rebalancing from the diet?!

Oh forgot to add - wore new work pants today - still a size 18 (no more changes there yet) but a slimmer fit. Really loved them and now realise how unflattering the other style was now the fit is poor! Mini goals!!

Jem maybe it will get easier now you are past the hormonal stuff. The main thing is you are still going. And you will hit your goal if you do that. Sending positive vibes to you for the weekend.

You are doing well Jem I have had a bad week and had some deviations but will not stop me back on the bus again I think that is the trick if it does happen then forgive yourself and get back to it
Reading how you make the same dinner for a week I think I would struggle with that I have something different each day but when cooking dinner make lunch for the next day.

Perth was awesome! Had an amazing time with family and friends. My parents and one of my brothers (I'm the youngest of four and only girl) noticed the change in my shape.

I enjoyed lots (and lots) of food and alcohol, especially at my joint 30th birthday party and only kept the Cohen's timings. I actually find the meal timings the best principle to follow even when I have 'off-plan moments'. Must be a digestive thing.

Anyway, back on EP now - I'll be posting about renewed goals and strategies to get me there. I really want to finish 2016 in a slimmer, healthier, balanced place than when I started.

Oh...something to note from the trip to Perth. My mum!

I love my Mum dearly. She is a beautiful, compassionate, stoic women and I hope in many ways I mature to be just like her...and then there are some traits I don't want to inherit.

For all my mum's beauty and bravado - she holds herself back A LOT! and mostly due to her physique. She doesn't play with my nephews and nieces because she lack flexibility and gets tired. She avoids most social engagements for fear of judgment or criticism. She doesn't travel because she can't guarantee safe passage for her insulin (Type 2 Diabetes).

I want to live life free from the restrictions or limitations of medication and public perception. I want to enjoy everything I've worked hard for and share that enjoyment with my loved ones. Cohen's is the strategy to achieve this and I need to remember this during times of struggle or doubt.

That's a very powerful post Jem, not only for weight - anything that holds us back from things we would really like to do but don't because of fear. Nice one!!
