Thanks Mark, trying positive self talk, don't believe myself yet, but giving it a go, and no I don't want to deviate again, that was just stupid, and to make a special trip to do it, how pathetic is that? Anyway, working on it.

Hey GUG you know what I love about you - you are still here and have not given up - that shows true inner strength and I think you deserve a big congrats for that one.

Thanks Mum Chum and Skuki, I appreciate your support, I am too dumb to give up. Never was any good at working out when I was flogging a dead horse.

hey gug
take the batteries out of the scales and give yourself 4 weeks of 100% on plan- then weigh
if you must, take some new measurments now and measure yourself once a week during that time
scales are not your friend
cheers
mark

Thanks Mark, I am useless with the tape measure I never get the same measurements twice and if I didn't have the scales to motivate me I would certainly give up. I need the ocassional kick in the pants, even if I don't like it. The scales do that for me. I would love to be only a four week weigher, but that is never going to happen.

Hey Giddy...

I was hopeless at measuring too... but I recommend measuring your waist at it's smallest part which is kinda easy... or use your belly button as the guide. And be sure to do it in front of the mirror so you can see where the tape is.

Also, with hips, I measured at the biggest point (as well as the smallest but I do like 10 measurements and wasn't sure where my hips were!)... at least that way you'll know if your measurements are ever the 'wrong' place, it is most probably in your favour in the end anyway... Just my thoughts.

Going without the scale is hard, but it is liberating... (I was off the scale for 3 weeks while in Canada).

Good Luck,

xoxo

Thanks for the tip lil_doll, maybe I need to put some permanent marker on my measurement points, and keep renewing it as it fades. It was an offical measurements day today and I am bust 97, waist 84, hips 112, thigh 54 and upper arm 34, I think that is about 7cm down from last week, I seem to be losing heaps from my bust, waist and legs, but the other measurements are very stagnent and have been since I started 6 weeks ago. I actually look pretty silly, like a stick with a big ball in the middle, very out of proportion. I have lost nearly 30kg and I think 15 of that has come off my bust grrr!!

GUG

I am with you on the bust - my arms aren't budging either

So, you are losing size, even if the scales are not helping you. Could also be hormonal.

Just keep on keeping on

Yup that is the plan, but still furious with myself for doing it after 5 months of beign good, and it wasn't like I even wanted to do it or had any cravings, it was just deliberate self sabotage, really stupid.

Hey Giddy and JLou...

Yep some of my measurements barely moved... but I was (am?! eek) oddly shaped... I am an apple. *sigh, I believe I will ALWAYS have a thick waist.

Grrr... and my bust wasn't that big to begin with and I lost quite a bit from there, yet none (or like 1inch) from my pesky arms!!

xoxo

I was an hourglass, now I have no idea what I would be, half an hourglass, just odd I guess, and my arms, I hate them, I have been doing some toning exercise with 1kg hand weights, but I don't think they are doing anything. grrr

I just keep remember that apparently our bodies will continue to shrink like a year after we finish the program... and any loose bits should tighten up... Here's to hoping anyway!!

Thank jlou, hopefully by the time I reach goal weight other bits, ie arms and hips will catch up with the rest of me and I will know what shape I am. Just wish there were some magic exercises for upper arms, anyone know of any?
