Giving our good clothes to the needy - US!!!
I am finding it hard to give away some of my 'nicer' clothes so I had this thought and would love some feedback. Would people who actually go into their clinic (sorry for those who cannot attend in person) be interested in putting all their good quality used clothing (that are now too big) into a bin/box at their local clinic and work on a swap system. What I mean is, adding your clothes to a collection box and swapping with a couple of smaller outfits. It's up to you whether you want to take anything out or not. I think it is us in need at the moment because lets face it, none of us really want to buy in between clothes when we know we are only going to be in them for a very short period of time. If some clothes have been in the box for a long time then they can go to a charity. This is just a thought and I would love to hear other peoples ideas on whether they think it would work or not. Of course we would also need approval from the local clinics to offer this service. Have a great day, NBS xx |

I think your idea sounds like a lovely idea!
I guess it would very much be up to the people who run the clinics if they want to take on that responsibility and possibly extra work. I know I have sent clothes to others who needed in between sizes and I feel much better sharing them with other Cohenites rather than donating them to Vinnies or Lifeline or the Salvos. Vee |

Thats a great idea. Im a bit far from the clinic to take advantage but I have passed clothes to other slimmers, I know they may only get to wear them for a short time, but at least it saves them spending money until they get closer to goal Then they can go to the salvos etc when they are finished

Brisbane clinic used to do this, I know I got some really great stuff from the Clothing Exchange, but it was sooooooooo poorly used that it was stopped.
Maybe it's worth having another try... asy

Ha ha Andy
you could star in your own version of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Perhaps Andy, Cohenite of the Outback. Think I will take a lot of my clothes out to Uluru when I go out there next. I go on Women's ceremony trips out from Uluru witt the Pitjanjara elder women and they always appreciate clothes. Most of them are fairly big as well so my clothes would fit them. Shanara
