what are your dream clothes after cohens?

One of the things that motivates me daily, is thinking about what clothes I would like to wear after cohens. So as an marker in my journey (still another 15 kilos to go), I will write this down and see whether I think the same when I get to the end of my journey.

I want to wear slim fitting jeans, bathers and lingerie. I have avoided these over the years - always opting for practical, oversized camoflage clothing. Well no more. I am going to try brighter colours, prints and SLIM SLIM clothes! I wonder what combination that would make?

What are your dream clothes?

The last time I wore a bikini I was 15, now I'm 40 I don't know if a bikini would suit when I'm done. What do others think? Oh I'd love to wear lingerie, I'm sure hubby would too I actually don't know what my *dream* clothes are because I've gone through almost two decades being overweight. I may have to start looking at the gossip mags to see what other slim 40 year olds wear!

Id love to buy some awesome fitting bootleg pants, a great thin persons top (preferably in red) that might show just a touch (and I mean only a touch) of cleavage , classy knee high boots and some awesome lingerie underneath. LOl some of that sounds a little tarty but thats not the look im after - I want classy, sexy and also to wear clothes Ive never worn before!!

LOL when I finish I hope all those clothes are still in fashion!!!

Seriously, now - I think it is great that you girls have a goal to aim for (and what a good goal - to be slim, and to feel SO good about yourself). As you would already know, this is NOT "the impossible dream" (as many on here can testify) - and it can happen for you too. So, roll your sleeves up, and YOU will be celebrating a NEWYOU very soon.

Sorry Nat to be a wet blanket but from where I am in the program to where I have to go can't say that there'll be too much cleavage to show as I don't have any left now. Never mind there are alway push ups that help I guess.

For me its just clothes that I look and feel good in as I have alway covered up with oversized older 'camoflage' gear. Although its amazing what we think we are doing and what is actual fact. How could we have ever covered it up. Reality is it just made us look huge.

Well I decieded to get in on this too.
I am already wearing the tight fitting jeans (wranglers) with a tucked in shirt and horse show belt. Soooo there goes that and that actually was my dream to get back into. I still have 24 lbs to go. My dream is to getting back into the 2 piece. Not the real bikini thing I think at 51 i am a little old for them and the thong ones there is no way I want that up the crack. I always wanted to look good in snowmoble bibs and jacket kinda like one of those snowbunnies you see on the TV. (women with a really good figure)
Cleavage what is that!!!! I haven't got that either and there is no way I will have when done either. I'll be wearing training bra's much to hubby's dismay. Unless of course I get some help. but ya know to have nothing up there again will be great. The only problem will be the sag there. I may get some help on that one.

It was fun to see hubby's expression when in a sleazy, slinky thing. I did that. I bought one thinking I would save it for our upcoming trip. But pulled it out just for fun. It fit and I was amazed cause i really didn't think it would. OH Ya ladies be prepared your asking for trouble when you jump into one of those. Course trouble is good.....sometimes......
just know that it is a reality these dreams so keep dreaming.

Pudge, I'm with you on the g-string (thong) thing. Somehow I dont think the human butt is meant to be flossed

As for the cleavage, Ive always been pretty generous up here in front so Im hoping that at least some of it sticks around. With some of my previous weight loss attempts, I've always seemed to lose it from everywhere else and my cleavage seems to have pretty much stayed the same - maybe a little smaller but still....... um .....ample!!. Maybe I just havent lost enough in previous attempts to tell - not sure so will see what happens.

Push up bras are a great idea so if I have to invest a couple of hundred $$ on them, so be it. LOL if my girls decide to sag, then I can always roll em up and the push up bras should still make em look ok!

glad you posted this thread... I waste a fair amount of time each day daydreaming about what clothes i might wear when i finish Cohens! However I can't narrow my selection down as yet.

For starters, I want to be able to put on, and do up, and sit down comfortably in! all the clothes currently in my wardrobe. I'm hoping at least half of them will be much too big and baggy by the time i'm finished.

And then second on my list is - I want to look UNfrumpy.

I am really looking forward to going into a shop and trying on anything I lay eyes on - and deciding once it's on, whether it's right for my age, my image and my shape (whatever that will be). Currently I reject clothes from outside the shop - half the time I don't even bother going inside to hold them up, let alone trying them on. So I'm looking forward to reversing that behaviour.

Sort of related to this topic - but a bit of a tangent - I have realised i have no idea what i will look like at my goal weight. I've never weighed myself in the past; so when i was slim, and i assume somewhere around my goal weight, i've no idea what that was in actual measurements...
so, back to the current topic - once I see what shape i am at my goal weight, i hope that will give me a clue as to what sort of clothes i'll be looking for! (mind you, my essential character won't have changed, but hopefully my self esteem will have!)

I imagine that MOST here would consider giving their right arm to be where you STARTED, Cait.

Since you are taller than most girls, I would doubt the extra 12Kg would have anyone calling you "frumpy" - except you (like I say, you're a hard marker!!). But then, you've already lost nearly half of that, so WELL DONE you.

I'm definitely going to go for the bootleg jeans with the tucked in crisp white shirt look... I've never worn jeans in my life. I had the chance too at size 16, but back then they didn't have bootleg cuts, so the fit back then always made me look really short and stumpy. You know the skinny girls look. I'm also buying a hot pair of knee high boots with my cute little A-line skirt. Definitely buying the lingerie. I remember when Berlei was having a clearance sale. I bought $2000 worth of pretty undies and bras for all my family and size 20E sports bras for myself. I always think about that time when I was browsing through the pretty stuff, but never imagined that I would be able to wear it soon..... Maybe I should be real daring and go for the green J-Lo dress.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Maybe after I work out for a year

Well, having recently gone back to work I'm buying lots of 'work blouses'.

I had literally dozens of really fabulous blouses, all tailor made (My mum's a ladies tailor and wedding dress designer). They're all migrating to ebay a few at a time...

I bought 9 shirts and blouses on the weekend, didn't pay more than $10 each. Some were $3. I'm the cheapskate from hell where clothes are concerned! I went shopping at the discount outlets. Just love them.

I also love shopping for new (to me) jeans at the Salvo's stores.

As for dreaming? I'd LOVE a pair of black boots, but with a size 12 foot and rather large (comparatively) calves, that ain't gonna happen

I just want to wear that look with jeans, white t shirt and sneaker (nice ones )shoe look, like jennifer anniston. I always dress up and wear high or chunky heels to make me look taller but i think the thinner you are the taller you look any way. Also i would love to be able to walk around in lingerie and not be embarrassed and basiclaly i would just love to look good in anything.

The funny thing is Annie, you already do look good in anything - i saw you last Monday and i KNOW you could wear that Jen Aniston look NOW with pride and confidence and the lingerie, well the only problem i can see with you walking around in that at home is you may not have it on for long! I presume you dont intend to walk around in it at work!

I think you and i are fairly similar right now, our view of ourselves has not quite caught up with the reality of how slim we already are! Last Monday you showed me pics of you 10kg lighter than now and as you know you were quite underweight. The time is NOW for you to wear those jeans and lingerie. Lets make a date for that shopping trip in a couple of weeks!

And timtam, i love your ideas, a girl with a sense of style and going upmarket! Morrisey dress (pricey i suspect but you deserve it) cue suits, good for work. I also LOVE the pics in harpers bazaar, just to look tho as who needs those price tags!

But i am more like you Asy. I go for the stuff that looks good but costs little. I often shop at Crossroads and can get dressy trousers for around $25, shirts for around $20 etc, means i can have more of them in case i get bored!

I wanted to get back into my pretty lacy bras as well, but with a 30kg drop, I thought I had better go and get myself fitted out for a good bra or two. None of these new bras are lacy or frilly or pretty - but I tell youwhat, they do the silohuette (spelling?) no end of good.
