Default why cant we have chai tea, if its base is black tea?

ok so i LOVE CHAI TEA! i used to drink cups and cups and cups of it everyday, with soy milk, extra cinnamon and when i was bad, honey. sweetener or stevia when i was good

so im confused, if we're allowed black tea, and we're allowed all the spices that are in chai tea (cardamon, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, nutmeg) why cant we have chai with no milk and with sweetener? or can we and ive been really slow to catch on.......?

hmm

You aren't allowed commercial ones because they often have stuff you aren't allowed in them.

If you want, you can make your own, with black tea leaves and those spices you mentioned.

Mind you, it won't taste quite the same, probably because it'll be missing the stuff you aren't allowed

Hope_ful.

I REALLY do understand how difficult it can feel to 'give things up' for the programme... And I'm sorry, I know this is gonna sound a little harsh, but, you've only got a little over 5kg to go. Stop pushing the envelope.

Live with black tea for the next few weeks and you'll be finished. On maintenance you can have any chai you like. The other thing to understand is that Dr C has had to make blanket statements about certain things. Could you imagine the impetus on his time if he had to examine the ingredients of EVERY brand of "whatever" (Be it chai or something else)? Sometimes he's just gotta say NO.

Have pity on those of us who have done a YEAR on the programme...

Have a good day and I am waiting to see your updates in your diary !!!

hahah thanks andy! hopefully ill be finished by easter!! but im jewish anyway, so lets hope i can have matzah balls by then hehe

i have two diaries for some reason, last week i posted in the "hopeful's diary.. im starting woo hoo" one, but no one responded so i feel weird to write in it again. i dont think im very liked on this forum due to rocking the boat a little. i also cant work out how to change the title of that diary, its a little lame now that im half way through hehe but anyway.

i will post another entry soon, thanks for asking about it, at least i know someone is reading about my little adventures
xx

im not going to have the chai anyway, id prefer to save my cinnamon and spices allowance for yoghurt and curries. i am however, craving meat, which is odd because i have been vego for over a year. im going to email my consultant and ask if she can add it to my program so i can at least try it and see how i go. i have a friend who's been vego for 30 years, and she only ate meat when trying to fall pregnant, and now she makes herself eat it every two weeks but after she eats it she has to sleep the whole day and feels like shes got the flu for several days after. her body just cant handle digesting it!! i dont want to feel sick from it, but i really miss my mom's lamb. i know we cant have lamb on the program so im thinking of making beef stir fry so that at least the pieces are little and can be hidden in the veges hehe, or beef rissoles or something.

anyway enough babbling, just got back from the beach so jumping in the shower to rid myself of sand and oil. its so nice to go to the beach and not feel like a beached whale.

Do you want the two diary's linked together and merged - if so just let myself or any of the mods or admins know and its the same with changing the Titles etc - we can do that.

Also glad you are getting into it and working it all out - don't worry about the meat bit it will be ok and you do need to eat a little bit of protein to help digest the carbohydrate and vice versus - there is some very interesting reading etc maybe a visit to Shell's diary if you like.

Don't worry about being liked or disliked - its all about support and giving support on the forum - we all have different ways of doing that and sometimes we all over express ourselves or misread what others write and construe it otherwise.

You cant have beauty and brains sometimes !!!!!!!!!!

And every one only wants the best for each other on this forum so its important to take it as support rather than personal criticism which does happen from time to time.

Also some of us old hands tend to show what Koh calls "Tough Love" and it can often be misconstrued as a nasty post when in fact it is just the simple truth of the matter with no frills attached. Sometimes that is enough to push some people back on track.

All the very Best - you are the making of a Champion !!!!!!!

Andy

thanks andy!
yes please i would love to have my diaries merged, and for it to simply be named "Hope_ful's Diary". thank you thank you.

i totally understand how things can be misread, its hard to read people's emotions and true meaning of words over mere font and emoticons. but i am known to be very sensitive (again, im cancerian.. tough shell, soft insides) but im taking each post as it comes!!

i am feeling really good.. i never thought instant decaf coffee could be so soothing! my eyes have totally changed, when i look at 120g salad im like WOW thats so much bigger than 95g!!! haha its crazy. i will write again in my diary, and if no one replies ill just reply to myself, hmm, maybe?! haha

ok so watch out for my next diary entry. thanks for your help andy, it's hard when one is not accustomed to "tough love", im more of a "tlc" (tender, loving care) type chick, but i do understand it comes from a good place!!

xxx
