How quickly am I likely to lose weight?
Some posts can give some clues - I'll post a few links further down. Suffice to say, MANY things can dictate how well YOU will go !! Things like - your age, your sex, your health, your commitment, how well you used to eat, etc. Here's a link that gives an idea. See how you fit with this :- http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=226028#post226028 As well as that, Andy started 3 polls that ask for people to vote as they pass the 4, 8, and 12 week marks. With some time now passed, these give some interesting statistics. e.g. the Average weight lost in 4 weeks is 8 - 9 Kgs the Average weight lost in 8 weeks is 14 - 15 Kgs the Average weight lost in 12 weeks is 20 - 21 Kgs That is what these polls show TODAY !! Will it change? Hmm, possible, but maybe unlikely to shift too much more. Certainly, a few more voters in the 8 and 12 week polls is desirable so, if you haven't already voted on any of these, please DO !! They won't let you vote twice - so, if you see a "Vote now" button, then you haven't already voted. Also, in case you are thinking "I didn't lose as much as others, so I won't vote!" all I want to say is "Please vote anyway!" The idea of these polls is to be as accurate as possible (not as awesome as possible ). For those that seem to "be slower than most others of similar sex, age, health", other variables include your previous diet. If you were generally healthy, and ate well, your path might be slower than one who "ballooned up" quickly due to a poor diet. And no, you are not being penalised for having eaten healthily - if you hadn't done that, you may well have an extra 30Kgs to shift !! In short, MANY things impact - as I stumble over each one, I'll attempt to add them. Main thing is "You will shed weight according to how Doc Cohen believes you should for your situation." Edited later:- I found out tonight (April 2010) that the following sentence in Red may be WRONG !! Like, if you say you "exercise regularly" when applying, the good Doc will likely allow EXTRA food to allow for this - then YOU might choose to NOT exercise once on Plan. Hmm, what do you think that will do? I thought it was correct, based on what I have read, off and on, over the last 3 years on here. Tonight, I got it straight from Asy - Doc Cohen DOES NOT KNOW if you do/don't exercise. I'm leaving the sentence above as a warning (and so that you don't think you are going mad - "Koh said I get more food because I exercise" kind of thing) Yes I have/had said that - incorrectly ...... or is it? See this next bit.... Caveat : (added Jun 2012) I stumbled over some of "Asy's words in print" today that indicate that Dr Cohen has SOME clue that might have him allowing extra food after all - read her words, and see what you think. http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=102771#post102771 In there, Asy says .... Quote:
Moving on, here's the links to those polls :- Weight lost in 4 weeks http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5244 Weight lost in 8 weeks http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6005 Weight lost in 12 weeks http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5364 Hope it helps - either in convincing you to "join up", or to help you understand some of the "variables" that affect how you are going. Koh PS If you want to feel GOOD about your "slow" weight loss, perhaps consider others (on other plans) that come nowhere near what is possible on Cohens - e.g. Pandora posted (sorry, no link) about a lady that was "over the moon" for losing 36Kgs in TWO years - approx 350g a week!!

Re: How quickly am I likely to lose weight?
To all new readers (and even some not so new who missed this previously) :-
Once you pass your 4, 8, and 12 week marks, DO vote on each of the polls in the post above. They are anonymous, so your result will only show as "one vote". Don't worry if you "Can't remember if I have already voted..." as the polls only allow ONE vote per person. If you have voted already, there won't be a "Vote" button for you to press, and, the results of the poll will be on display for you as soon as you enter. I hope EVERYBODY does get to vote - even if "after the fact".... The more that do, the more accurate are the results. Thanks, Koh

Re: How quickly am I likely to lose weight?
Since I OFTEN go looking for these ones, I wanted to link to them in here.
I am sorry to say that Jo's ticker (in Jun 2017) is no more !! By all means click on the link, but the charted evidence is no longer available - still you can maybe glean from the words just what we were seeing. The link below is to my post, then I refer you to three posts earlier - prepare to be amazed (this charts Joanne333's journey). http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=329201#post329201 Those that get concerned over "no/low weightloss this week" will likely be heartened by seeing Jo's progress from start to finish. It's all there - slow weeks, fast weeks - but the final result (when looking from a distance) is pretty much a straight line. It's only when viewed closely that the "slow" weeks can be observed. But AJ's post below still remains - click on the thumbnail to "open up" the chart so you can see its detail easily. AJ's chart (AJ = Annabelle Joy) - another "straight line" !! http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=168165#post168165 There you can see clearly that in some days and weeks, AJ's weight went UP, but was compensated later with a bigger drop - effectively producing a straight line result.... In fact, DO read the whole thread that AJ posted this in ("Weight and cm losses week by week" - I'm sure it will help). I should say that some may not be quite so lucky - e.g. anyone who may have spent years at a particular weight may find their weekly losses slow a bit once they again get below that mark, as hard-packed, long-held fat is generally more difficult to shift. Still, even if not quite a straight line, a consistent loss over time (not daily, nor even weekly) is YOURS so long as you stay on the Bus !! All quite normal, as "no one size fits all" - just do your best to stay true to plan, and the excess weight will leave you at the best rate it can.
