If it only takes one slice to cover a piece of bread it's too big (more or less). If it takes 4 slices to cover a piece of bread (more or less) then it's too small. So somewhere in between. Or, as was written, a "medium" tomato.

Thank you sundaymorningstaple, that gives me a better idea ( provided I can remember the size of a slice of bread ) I have been choosing ones that are too small.

within the vege weight, i usually work on enough to cover 2 vitawheats ( dont use them on the vitawheats it is just a convenient measure) often works out to 30-40 grams
