Default Anti-inflamatories while on Cohen's

Well, I am at the point where I will need to start popping some, have tried the hot/cold compress but mostly just been carrying the pain of a middle toe gout. I had not had an attach for over 6 month's (used to be weekly) I am drinking 3L of water a day and my 1st glass has unprocessed vineger in it.

I have had a lot of steak of late so am putting it down to that and will change out to chicken fish from now..

I am still firmly in the headgame, just in pain as well and do not want to upset my balance nearly 3 weeks in by popping pills.

So I guess my question is has anyone had this question of allowance of antiinfam's?

am also praying for a quick reslove of course.

Hey ozrockit, can't really tell you about the anti-inflammatories, I know codeine is not meant to be allowed though..........

But, I do know this........the cohens mantra is always this, HEALTH FIRST, COHENS SECOND!!!!!

You may want to check with your clinic and see what they say, it might well be that anti-inflammatories are fine anyway.....

Hope you feel better soon, it must be very painful

I used nurofen plus during my program and anti inflammatories and it did cause my weight to temporarily spike. Just check the tablets ingredient list and make sure they don't include lactose etc. Nurofen brands don't but some of the chemist brands do.

The weight spike was due to retaining fluid and it went when I stopped taking them.

Hope you feel better soon

Hi OzRockit,

I caught your comment re gout, and wanted to point you to some of the words of a former sufferer - words of hope. Check the first paragraph of this post :-

http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=183870#post183870

I also recall SMS talking (in other posts) of the foods he had to "give up" to overcome his gout - I think liver might have been one, not sure what else.... Sorry, I couldn't find the post that actually outlines all of what he has learned. But I wanted to show (via that link) that you CAN be gout-free. In SMS's case, free from several other health issues too.

Perhaps go hunting for SMS's Diary ? Or, maybe he will pop in to tell you himself - he is still around....

Oh, and welcome aboard - you seem to be going well despite the current health problem. I'm with Collie - health first, Cohens second.....

And me? I'm a tall skinny-ish bloke (BMI ~25.5) and have been this way forever, so I haven't faced (weight-wise) what you all have !!

That is a truly epic thread Koh!!!

Full of emotion & to some it obviously came across as harsh (I don't agree), but underlying it is the reminder that this is a program for hormone control & weight loss is kind of a side effect of that! This is no standard diet, I have tried alot & once I started deviating that was the end for me. It amazes me how 'easy' this is & how 'level' I feel on Cohen's.

Everytime a deviation occurs it upsets that delicate hormone balance & you do yourself no favours. Epic!

Sorry to hijack your thread ozrockit, I hope you find some relief from pain soon, it's awful to live in pain, I know!
