The "Old" New Me !!
I had always been quiet slim all my life, I enjoyed all sports, going shopping, and spending time at the beach. All of this changed within a short time. I feel pregnant with my first baby and put on 32kg's in 9 months. Since then I have never really lost any of the weight, having my fourth and last child 9 months ago, I decided it was time to look after myself. For the past 6 years I have been letting myself go, My mum would always say "If you're not going to look after yourself, who will?". So I did a bit of searching and asking around about diets and gyms etc... Finally, a lady mentioned Cohen's to me and I'm so glad she did Tomorrow will be my third week, and I feel great!! I had a little sneak peak on the scales today and I am so close to losing my first 10kg's. How exciting is this hehe. My first few days were OK, just felt a little hungry at times, but that was all. The hardest thing for me so far would have to be cooking my favourite meals for my kids and hubby, makes my mouth water some times... But so far so good, I actually just found out while reading some ones diary that i have been "deviating" by not weighing me allowance right. going 1g either side of my allowance is a no no. But back on track now and things are getting easier. Tomorrow is weigh in and I'm excited Thank you for reading through my novel hehe, I will be back on tomorrow to check in and update my status. Re: The "Old" New Me !!
Good luck Kiwi Girl (I take it you are in NZ)!
I also put on around 30kgs with my first baby. For the next 6 years I yo-yo dieted, losing and gaining the same 10kgs. I finally tackled it with the help of Cohen's. You'll get there, and you'll get there easily and quickly. I know what you mean about cooking for your family... It's hard. Some days, I just had to walk away from the dinner table I was that desperate to shove their meal in my face! Just remember, it's only for a short period of time. You can do this!

Re: The "Old" New Me !!
Thanks for your kind words ladies Yup from little ol' NZ. I just realised this was a Au forum hehe. Hope I'm still aloud to post on here??
Had my 3 week check in with my consultant, 8.5kg loss so far and 11cm total loss!! and blood test in a week. Next week (if everything goes to plan) I will be lighter than my partner, this is a massive achievement for me , It's been a long time since I have been lighter than him . On another high note, I've started to notice my shorts are falling down a lot So happy everything is coming of so quickly. |

Re: The "Old" New Me !!
Dear Diary,
Yesterday was weigh in date. Week 4 and blood tests. Another awesome loss (2.7kgs) Wohoo!! All is going smoothly. Those temptations are getting easier to resist and my clothes are getting baggy. 1/4 of the way to my goal weight and it seems to be going by so fast. I've got loads of energy and feel a lot better about my appearance. Can't wait till I lose another 10kgs. One thing I have noticed is those times I feel like pigging out on junk food is when I'm down or upset. I never knew I was using eating as my comforter. So realising this was what I did has helped me to understand what I need to do to get out of that bad habit. And how it made me feel. Every week is getting easier and easier and better and better. So happy I made the decision to give Cohen's a go. Love it |

Re: The "Old" New Me !!
Hi KiwiGirl!
Congrats on your weightloss! I cant wait for my 1st 10kgs. I share the same pigging out habit- when Im down, upset or its a week before TOM when everything seems to be oh so depressing (hormones bringing out the drama queen). I still have to face that challenge in the next few days. Keep up the good work!

Re: The "Old" New Me !!
Thanks ladies Yes TOM always makes things harder haha.
Wow Gigglesza, 50.6kg loss... that is inspiring. Awesome work. You must be feeling great So today was my 5th week weigh in and my lowest weight loss so far (1.3kgs), I'm still very pleased with my loss but as always I'd hoped for more. Over the past few weeks, my partner and mum have been very very supportive. Giving me compliments and commenting on how good I'm looking etc. But there are the odd few who 'know it all' and deem Cohen's to be a bad choice... This drives me crazy, How can eating healthy and eating the correct portions be unhealthy and bad for me?? I'm not to sure if it's jealousy or not?? The one thing that most people don't understand is that excessive exercise is not recommended. Have had a few people saying if you can't exercise it's not good for you, getting healthy is 70% food and 30% exercise. I guess I just need to ignore all the negativity and concentrate on what's important, harder than it sounds as I thought these people would be the ones supporting me. Rant over. Still deviation free and 100% water wise hehe. |

Re: The "Old" New Me !!
Hi Kiwi Girl,
Welcome and congratulations for your fantastic losses, it is funny the bad comments "and more who they come from lol" I'll tell you there are plenty of us sitting in maintenance who have proven the theory needing to exercise to loose weight is not entirely true I suppose when you are flaunting your sexy size 10 body there will be no need to correct their theory. Re: The "Old" New Me !!
Thanks Gay'zin, Yes I can't wait to be on maintenance and show them all that what I'm was doing worked
ON another down note, my consultant rung me today regarding my blood test. Apparently I have been deviating and not just a little. ..like pigging out on something bad :/ She asked what supplements I was taken, and apparently the 'Read Seal' Womens Multivitamin B6 has 25g to much in it . But could this really be the BIG deviation?? I'm in total shock about this as I know I have stuck 100% to the plan. My meals couln'd t get more basic and to the point. I don't used many condiments, if any on some days. I drink +3 liters of water every day?? With my weight loss only being 1.3 this week, she has suggested that this would be the problem and this is why I'm not hitting the high weight loss number at the moment. But the vitamins haven't seemed to do me wrong on the past weeks. Pretty confused and a bit P'd off about this all. But I guess a loss is a loss and I shouldn't think about it to much. :/ |

Re: The "Old" New Me !!
I am not sure how blood tests work but I know mine came back showing deviations yet I was 100% true and my consultant said not too worry about it as my losses wouldn't be what they were if I had deviated. I know it is a bugger when you know you haven't but really you only have to be true to yourself and don't let it upset you.
You are doing so well, don't let comments upset you and I loved that you didn't need to exercise to lose the weight.' There is plenty of time to bring exercise in after the weight loss. WB |

Re: The "Old" New Me !!
So I've been pretty terrible lately, I went Really of track. To the point I was sure I wouldn't be able to start back up again.
But here I am, back on the healthy eating, Feels like day 1 again, hunger pains and everything is so tempting to eat. First three days of detox here I come!! Fingers AND toes crossed that I stick to it again :/ |

Re: The "Old" New Me !!
Welcome back KiwiG. It's good to see you back as I have just read your diary. It sounds like you started off gangbusters but then freaked out and stressed a little when things weren't perfect.
I don't think I have read anyone having a 100% perfect trip to goal weight - sure some have been 100% deviation free but they still definitely hit emotional and personal road humps along the way. This is really normal and the best thing is to avoid putting pressure on yourself. Don't expect perfection but remain persistent and always keep your goals in sight. That way you will keep taking the next step and that's all you need to do. Keep going and we will all get to our goals eventually! |
