Re: why can't we have 2 meals from meal 1 ?
G’Day
Firstly, a reminder of the obvious: The meals are not Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. They are Meal Choices Group 1, Group 2 and Group 3. You may have one meal from each group, each day, and you can eat the meals in any order you prefer Secondly, a reminder of the not-so-obvious: This program is not about eating less. This program is not about losing weight. This program is about curing obesity and retraining how the body responds to food. The most important ingredients of the program are the ones you don’t see, the actual ingredients of the food. For example, mushrooms have high levels of tryptophan, which stimulates the body to release (not produce, but release) Human Growth Hormone. We need the release of HGH to enable healing, and shrinking. Yoghurt has high levels of serotonin. We need serotonin to control hunger, and to feel satisfied. It is the ‘feel good’ hormone. Protein inhibits the release of insulin. Insulin converts food (as sugar in the blood) to fat. If we can control the release of insulin, we can control the conversion of food to fat. The combination of these factors is what makes us feel good, to not be hungry, to sleep well, to shrink, and to consume fat deposits. This program is about stimulating the body to consume it’s own fat reserves. We drink the water to flush out the old fat, and all the DDT, heavy metal and other garbage stored in the fat. We sleep to enable the body to repair and heal itself. We don’t eat closer than two hours before sleep as Human Growth Hormone works best when blood sugar levels are low. These levels are low approximately two hours after eating, and HGH is released in the largest amount between approximately midnight and 2am, so it makes sense to not eat too late and to try and be asleep by midnight. (This could actually explain why shift workers are often obese!) So do not tamper with the program. Eat exactly the amount of food proscribed for you – not one gram more, not one gram less. Drink the water. Go to sleep. And don’t meddle with the balance of the food. Eat your own choices, but eat one meal from each group, each day. This program works, and performs major miracles. But (as my Mother used to remind me) The Lord Helps Those Who Help Themselves – so make sure you give yourself the most help simply by sticking strictly to the program. Lotsa love Kristine |

Re: why can't we have 2 meals from meal 1 ?
Great post, Kristine, as always very inspirational, I've printed it off and stuck it to my cup board.
Now to you, Pudge: you say you hate mushrooms. I am sure that we can learn to love nearly anything that's good for us. I never liked olives (long before Cohens), but thought they looked nice, and slowly "trained" myself to eat them and now I love them a lot! same with spinach. Same with (and this is now on Cohens) natural yogurt. I read a lot of posts of people hating it, but you get used to it. same with cutting out sugar (slowly weaning yourself off), salt (all of a sudden things actually taste nice without huge amounts of salt) etc etc. So may you could learn to like mushrooms? How do you prepare them? I fried mushrooms with some zucchini this morning, seasoned with rosemary and oregano, then stired half of my mozzarella cheese allowance through, then put it in oven proof dish, rest of mozzarella on top, grilled it for about 3 to 4 mins and that was yum. Can't really taste the mushrooms, it's just a nice combination of herbs and cheese and some juicy bits of veg. The sauce that came out was the best, I liked the bowl. So what I'm trying to say is: don't think you hate a specific item of food (well, you could try to tell yourself you hate mackers and fish and chips), see it as your tastebuds not being used to it, and slowly introduce the food by slowly changing the ration of mushrooms to other veg in one dish, until you end up with more mushrooms than you would ever have thought you can get down. Judging from other postings, a lot of people didn't like yogurt for example, and then found themselves getting used to it so much that they maintained it even after reffed. Same coudl happen with mushrooms (or any other item you find weird at the moment). Cheers Katrin |
