Default herbal tea

I've started back on the program today, but I can't find my original program, with the complete list of allowed foods/ drinks.... i only have the summary that I had posted on my fridge.

When I did the program before, I never drank herbal tea, but I found when I'd finished that it helped with hunger. but I'm not sure whats allowed and what's not.

Can anyone enlighten me?!

Thanks,
Pen

Well, everybody's program is different. I'm one of the later ones and mine says that herbal teas are fine as long as they are NOT fruit teas. I drink at least one Rooibo's tea daily along with my English Breakfast & Earl Grey. Chinese tea, Chrysanthum tea are okay as well on mine. It's best to hear from other here as well as I don't know if the allowables are the same for all.

Just re-checked the bible, all herbal teas are good except fruit flavoured ones, black tea, green tea & I found out Chai tea is ok too, nice for a change!

I am addicted to mint tea, I tried it as a result of having gas and bloating (not a good subject) . It tastes fantastic and helps to finish of the meal and end the day. It helps with digestion and it also tastes great.

Hey Drexyl - where did you find out Chai tea is ok, I have been looking at them wondering... I would say that Lipton's Chai is out as they add a few weird things that aren't on our list but I got an organic one yesterday that seems all pure. Just want to make sure it is ok?

Can I please ask were you buy your teas from. Especially the Rooibios tea, also do you use sweenter in it?

KGB Do you get your mint tea from a health food shop or just woolies or coles? Thanks

Also just thought I would share that in my program it DOES allow Black and Green tea. The only teas NOT allowed are the fruit flavoured. Doesnt mention anything about Chai tea, so I dont know what comes under.

Thanks

Hello again!

The chai tea I have is Nerada Organics. It doesn't have anything naughty in it, just organic tea, organic ginger, cinnamon, cardomon & cloves.
I rang the clinic & asked them & because there's nothing else added, it's ok!
I found a REALLY nice green & mint tea by Madura, & they do THE best black tea also! ( mind you it was way nicer with milk & sugar,
but hey, what ya gonna do? ) I buy them all at Woolies! I've seen the Roobios tea there too!
As a rule you don't normally add sweetener to herbal teas, but to each his own, you may prefer it that way? Try it 1st without sweetener & see what you think?

Hope this helps!

Hi Paza I just get the ones from Coles Twinings infusions pure Peppermint.

Give it a go, it is also nice cold with ice. It also helps to clear out the system.

Paza,

I'm in Singapore so I don't think it will be too much help for you. I have friends who work for S.African Airways here in Singapore and they usually will keep me stocked up with it. Otherwise I usually drink Twinnings Earl Gray or English Breakfast Tea. I drink all my teas black without any sweeteners at all. Matter of fact I don't use sweeteners in anything. I cook with a wipe of EVOO or spray of Pam and Balsamic Vinegar & Water. Kind of a sour guy!

I got a big fat no from my clinic on Chai Tea - did anyone hear anything different?

Question "I have heard from some friends that are on Cohen's that we may be allowed Chai Tea - I have checked the contents
and it just has some dried herbs added? Is this OK to drink?"

Answer" NO ! you are NOT allowed Chai tea on the program. We have a full list from Dr Cohen of all approved foods etc. Chai Tea is a NO."
