Default Waterwise Challenge Monday 15th Dec to Sunday 28th Dec 2008

Hi Everyone,

Let's liven things up a bit with a new challenge! Seems like water is such a large part of this programme yet its easy to forget to take enough each day. So Asy and I have come up with a challenge for us to be more conscious around our water intake for each day.

It will run as a two week challenge starting every second Monday. Rules will be posted as a seperate thread so they are easy to find as new people come in. Basically it will run pretty much like the Mango challenge but rather than being about deviations will be about water. At the beginning of each challenge you nominate your water intake you have as a goal for each day - just one amount eg 3 litres per day or 2.5 litres per day - somewhere between 2 and 4 litres. If you want to go outside that amount you have to have discussed it with your Cohens consultant. More than 4 litres if you are not monitored can rid your body of electrolytes - less than 2 litres is not enough.

This challenge is open to all Cohenites. Water is important even on refeed and maintenance. In fact I have noticed that some on maintenance notice they tend to let the water slip a bit at times. This can be your incentive not to let that happen.

So we are starting on Monday. Who's in for the inaugral waterwise challenge. Your trophy is a !!

I would like to extend a formal invitation for our very own puppy - Koh - if he would like to join us on this one because everybody could actually drink 2 litres of water and be healthier for it. Even puppies need their water!

Hope you all like this challenge
Shanara

Talking Count me in!

What a great idea Shanara
Count me in for 3-4 litres, the more I drink, the better I feel, & the more weight drops off........................
Dancing mangos, drink bottles I wonder what will be next But all of these little exercises helps to keep us on tract & have a bit of fun
Have a great day everyone

I'll join too, Shanara. Since getting to maintenance I've been forgetting to drink my water regularly. Put me down for two litres a day.

One of these can help with water: http://www.hydracoach.com.au/. Available from Priceline. Better to drink a few mouthfuls frequently than by the glass(s) infrequently.

Back again to do it all over again, starting from exactly the same weight as last time.

Back again for the support. Still think the diet and the forum are the best ever, but too old to do it again. Now losing again slowly on maintenance diet. Ticker shows next intermediate goal only (5 kilos).

Great initiative Shanara!

Put me down - I'll go for bewteen 2.5l and 3l per day.

Bit like living in Brissie - we can drink the water to be waterwise for our health, but we have to be careful about our other usage of water, which is also being waterwise for our environment!!

Hi Jeannie,

Quote:
ello Koh! Are you drinking much water now mate?
Since water used in coffee doesn't count, the short answer is "No".

And I read of all the benefits that water does, and, as I age, my skin is getting pretty soft and almost "brittle" - so, I figured, why not give it a go !! You girls are always raving about "how good your skin feels" - maybe I can knock a few years off my visage too Won't know till I try, eh?

This really will be a Challenge for me - but I'm up to it !!
Quote:
Hope you have been well..
Thanks for asking, Jeannie, I'm all good !! Looking forward to FOUR WEEKS off over the Xmas/NY timeframe. (Just NOT looking forward to the "no income" part of that....)

Koh

I'm in!!!

Thanks Shanara & Asy... this challenge is a great idea

Put me down for 4lts. I usually drink 1.5 by midday, 1.5 by 3pm and another 1.5 by 6pm which gets my 4lts in for the day, and doesn't have me up all night needing the bathroom... I'm happy to have found a pattern that works for me.

Yay! Looking forward to having a bottle for my dancing buddies!

Hi Shanara
I will join in for my first challenge. It will be good because I haven't really been monitoring my water intake just drinking glasses here and there and I have been wondering if I am having enough. 3 litres will be my goal.

Thanks

Yes Koh the water will be good for you, the worst thing is when you get older and the skin becomes like tissue paper, the skin tears very easy and of course it cant be stitched.. I had to be relieved the other day cos I was about to pass out while I was assisting the RN trying to repair quite a nasy one a lady sustained at work the other day.. Ouch!!

Try using moisturiser as well.. vitamen E cream is very good...

Enjoy your time off, you will have plenty of time to develop good habits...
