Default diet lemonade/diet soda

Hi,
I wonder if there are diet drinks I can have on this diet that do not contain Nutra-sweet/Aspartame?
The only ones on my list in the diet contain the above sweetner.

Thanks for any info.

Blessings

Hi, I think you will find that apart from plain soda water or mineral water, most diet soft drinks will contain artificial sweetners

Hi Swannee,

Thanks for the reply, but I actually like to know if there is a diet drink that contains a different artificial sweetner then Nutra-sweet(=aspartame).

Here in Australia they sell "golden circle" drinks that contain "splenda", but it also contains 5% fruit juice and I belief that "splenda" which is an artificial sweetner that is made from sugar is not allowed on the diet. So this brand is out of the question.

I have been using Spenda all along maybe that is why I have only lost 21 lbs in 5 weeks. Although I only use one packet a day in my yoghurt in the am.

5 individual packets of Splenda is allowed per day on this program. In addition, there are allowances for diet soda and sugar free gum. Aspartame is allowed.

Pudge- you've lost ONLY 21 lbs in 5 weeks?? That is alot!! Gosh, most people would be lucky to lose 5lbs in that time frame on other programs. We all need to be grateful for our losses - Cohen's has made it possible for many to achieve weight goals that most can only dream about. Don't compare yourself to others.

I know that is a lot compared to other diets but I am looking at some others on this program that have lost more in that amount of time. So didn't really know if this was really good or just kinda ok.
I know I feel way better now. Plus the fact that across the pond ya'll have clinics to go to we just have the internet to comunicate with Cohen people with. It takes days to hear from them so I have gotton more of my answers from this board and another one.

As far as the diet soda it may be the diet rite that that does not have nutra sweet in it. I thought I had read that somewhere and was at one time drinking that. Next time I go to the grocery store I will look.

Pudge, you are right. Diet Rite is sweetened with Splenda. I forgot about it but honestly, have not seen it in the grocery stores of late either.

I have become a fan of sparkling water - but the Mt Franklin tastes pretty awful compared to the Italian ones. So, I only drink the Italian ones. I also hate anything with aspartame in it. I chew sugar free gum, but dont' like drinking soft drinks.
I didn't think Splenda was allowed on the program... not on mine anyway!

I have stayed away from the diet lemonde since it wasn't listed on my plan just the diet soda's. I have also stayed away from the dark colored diet soda's no real reason other than sometimes finding caffeine free can be a pain in the backside.
I also try not to have a soda but once a day if that. I also read somewhere that it can hinder weight loss. Diet squrit gives vegis or meat a nice taste when cooked in with it. Even had some in my yoghurt this am taste's pretty good. I was out of diet orange.

Default Soft drink v just water

Hi everyone,

Well a couple of days i tried to have my fizzy drink only once a day well one can a day but on those days i craved things all day, so i have found if i have a can with lunch and then with tea it is much better, plus it fills your tummy up. Even if i dont feel like one i am still going to have it cause on the other days i have felt like deviating.

Maybe its all in my head.

While when I started the programme I thought I'd have at least a can or two a day, I soon found it wasn't that great. I pretty much stuck to water but always had a few cans of Diet Sprite or Diet Coke in the fridge. I used them as a reward to myself so when I broke through a milestone, no matter how small, I'd reward myself with a nice cold can.

It worked out very effective for me. Allowed me to feel like I was celebrating and rewarding myself yet sticking strictly to the programme.

A can of orange diet soda has gotten me thru a lot of wanted deviations or just plain hunger.
I don't have to have it as much anymore like the beginning.

At my clinic they told us that normal diet coke is ok- it doesnt have to be caffeine free. If you are allowed to have 3 cups of normal (caffeinated) coffee, then this is a reasonable expectation.

You are allowed lots of different types of soft drink, just the quantities are limited dependant on the particular soft drink. You will find the ones that contain a fruit base, like fanta zero, pub squash diet ginger ale & solo sub are only 350mls per day, because of the fruit base.

Erm... No... Sprite zero contains no caffeine. The ingredients are carbonated water, citric acid, natural flavours, potassium citrate, potassium benzoate, aspartame and acesulfame potassium. It really doesn't sound very nice when you look at it, does it? But no caffeine.

And just remember, do not drink a whole litre of diet coke with caffeine. That's too much. You can have three caffeinated beverages per day, which does indeed amount to a lot less than a litre.

Hope that helps.

I was not allowed any soft drink with a fruit base except solo sub, no fanta zero and no ginger ale.

Perthwoman are you confusing sprite zero and coke zero perhaps? Sprite zero is diet lemonade.

Anyone heard about Zevia?

I gotta say I am having very good consultant this time around (doing American version, which YES, has some different rules, but my consultant is very strict) - and ZEVIA is also no carb drink - allowed from dr.Cohen - only original flavor though (No fruit flavors). It is better than soft drinks - made with Stevia (no aspartam). Of course it doesnt taste like diet coke, but is nice change and heathier, too.

Default decaf coffee & cola Question

hi guys

so the other day i started drinking coffee again, havent in about 6 months, because i was craving "something" but it was late at night and i had finished all my food, and then the next few days i had like 1/2 to 1 cup a day, maybe 2, and i was starving!!!! really much hungrier than i had been... i went for my first appointment at my clinic yesterday and we realised it was probably the caffeine that was stimulating my appetite, which i really dont want, so im onto decaf coffee...

just wondering how many decaf coffees we're allowed a day? i know we're only allowed 3 caffeinated drinks, so can we drink as much decaf as we want? ill only be having one or two cups a day anyway, but just curious
xx
