Adelaide clinics now all closed down

Guess i just had to vent a bit about this. I dont know why, but i felt somehow devastated to hear not only the clinic i went to that shut down 2 weeks ago but also the main Adelaide Cohens clinic has now shut down as of 7th December (i got my letter today) due to financial struggles etc after 8 years.

I am so so glad i have completed my program but i do have a contract until end of March and now i have to communicate with the head office in Perth, hmm. I understand at lots of levels that we now live in an internet age and lots of you on here have done this purely by internet, phone calls, emails etc, but somehow, i never thought Adelaide office would close.

So, on one hand i wonder if there are other ADL clients out there, disappointed (altho supportive of the clinics best but unsustainable efforts) and feeling sad. Anyway, i wanted to let others know as i never thought this would happen and wanted to share the sadness at a clinic open for 8 years in 2 Adelaide clinics now gone. Okay, thats enough, Pandora

Hi pandora,

wow that is sad news.. but it's the way at the moment.. My hubby & I are trying to sell our business but due to various reasons such as the economy etc.. things haven't quite gone the way one would expect.. slightly off topic..

Lucky for so many there is this forum & the internet.. but I truly do believe some of the most wonderful success stories have been by those who do this journey for the most part on their own.. I hope that those who cant have a wonderful close knit support system to help them through.

Yeh Pandora we here in Alice are lucky enough to have the Darwin office come once a month to visit Alice Springs but honestly I dont think it makes a big difference, I just use the forum and local support...

I guess they are franchises and I am surprised there is not enough business out there...meanwhile my consultant said that her daughter has just opened a Cohens clinic in Townsville....so its booming up this way of the country...

Maybe too many thin people in Adelaide lol......my old origins.....lol

Wow that is really sad to hear especially as that was the clinic i first went to nearly 6 yrs ago! Not sure if i should mention this but i do know that the owner of this clinic used to put their own money into it to keep it a float, so maybe it just got too hard in the end.
I would imagine that there arent too many clinics left now in Adelaide.

But i do agree with everyone else's comments that you do find the the best support here on the forum.

I'm also from Adelaide and am pretty upset about both the clinics being closed, it was so sudden! I'm still about 2 months away from finishing my program and the perth clinic hasn't made any contact with me yet so I'm going to call on Monday just to check in. Hope matinence is going well!

Hey Ruby, sorry to hear you also are caught up in the drama of the ADL clinics closing down! I trust you will get the support you need from Perth. Meantime, i am just back from hols, busy at work etc but perhaps we can support one another as i want to go lower on the scales by 5kg cos i can, starting later this week.
