Re: Help Please
Hi Bronwyn
Given that you've already had some great losses already (looking at your ticker) hopefully your experience will be the same as mine! When I was doing my program in 2008, I had 2 long periods with little to no losses which worried me... but at the end of those periods I stepped on the scales one morning to find a DRAMATIC loss. I've heard a few people discussing this over the time and there seem to be times where your body is actually shrinking, but it takes a lil while for the scales to reflect it? I'm not sure how it works, but in my experience it was definitely worth hanging on and seeing the movement when it was finally ready! I hope you see those scales show you the changes you're FEELING soon

Re: Help Please
Hey Bronnie... lulabelle is sooo right!
This is the good bit!! This is your clothing size changing!! I have had a small loss this week too, and when I post about that I put up all my previous weigh ins too and you can see it is just how it goes... and that is why we are told to weigh in monthy. Don't worry!!! But I know how you feel! At those times you ask yourself 'ugh why am I even bothering!?'... but it is worth it! xoxo Missy

Re: Help Please
Of course, there is no harm in re-reading your program to just make certain there are no little things you are missing...
Why not give us a run down of your day? It might help Or keep a food journal. I have one, I write every morsel that goes into my mouth! haha. I really needed it at the beginning and I have just kept doing it. It can also be beneficial to write in the time you eat too, so you NEVER muck up the timing. Don't forget stress doesn't help... keep that in mind! xoxo Missy

Re: Help Please
Well, the spacing looks fine
Hang tough, and maybe re-read your program for clarity's sake, in case there is a little something, but I wouldn't worry too much. Maybe if you give it a little more time, you could call your clinc and have a chat about it? Also... I just wanted to ask, are you feeling cold more than usual lately? Cos I find that happens when I am losing inches. xoxo Missy

Re: Help Please
Not got far enough in this diet, but I've had plateaus (plateaux?) in other diets.
I think you've just got to keep plugging away and keep faith it'll all come right. Are you drinking enough water? |

Actually a couple of times I have felt cold but nothing significant. There is more help in here than the clinic!

Re: Help Please
Hi, I went for 11 days at the same weight at one stage, and had done nothing different. It really did my head in but I eventually broke through it. I have a theory that it is the divide between all the "new" fat being gone and the body starting on the "old" fat. My losses are pretty much consistant now. Hope this helps.

Re: Help Please
When I was in the last stage of the diet, my weight got stuck for a month before it rapidly dipped to my target weight. There is a post somewhere (by Shanara I think) about how the weight loss phase alternates with the "integration" phase (inch loss), and as long as you are following your program 100% there is no need to worry. It will work for you.

Re: Help Please
Bronwyn, you have done so well already - and so brave to start before Christmas! Not sure if, like me, you've tried many 'diets' before but when you were on them, when was the last time you lost 6.9 kg in 4 weeks!?
On Cohen, the exciting thing is the loss of inches. Please be assured - the weight will catch up if you stay on track. I notice that you say that your day consists of ..... Does that mean you are having the same things for breakfast and lunch every day? I notice you are mixing it up at dinner, though. Just a thought - I find having protein (eg an egg) at breakfast a great idea, as this fills me up for longer. Not sure if that is an option in your program but mixing up your breakfasts with new options may help things move along, weight-wise. Also, you say you are not having cheese - is that because you don't like it or because, like me, once you start you cannot stop!? I have been having my feta option and the mozzarella option when I can and that seems like a real treat, if you are a cheese person. Keep up the great work! |

Re: Help Please
Thanks Girls,
Im going to get over it as I see the way my clothes are fitting me and I know Im losing. 100gm overnight LOL. Yes Ellerby I do tend to have the same things during work days. I have to take a Thyroid tablet each morning and I cant eat until at least 30mins after it. This makes it hard on work days to eat before I leave home so I just take yogurt and kiwi fruit to work, which I actully enjoy. On the weekends I have an omelet or some sort of concoction that looks like it anyway LOL. Tuna and Salad is so easy to get ready the night before work. I dont feel hungry at all during the gaps but I have a salada and love every bite. At nights I cook something different each night. I usually cook in the sprite or balsy vinegar. Last night I had a chicken stirfry and it was very very nice. Actually I am making better meals on Cohens than when I wasnt on LOL, so I will have to maybe make the family some only bigger serves. I started before xmas because I knew that if I started in the new year I would have to lose an extra 3 kgs which is what I would probably have put on over the xmas, eating and drinking. I have never lost that much weight on a diet ever let alone in a month because I could never stick to them. So there is definately something good about Cohens. As far as cheeses go I only like camembert and jarlsberg so no go with that one. If I wasnt so much a pain with the scales I wouldnt worry but just trying to work out how Im not losing weight but losing cms does My head in. Cheers guys and thanks for replying.

Re: Help Please
Hi Bronwyn,
I have just started Cohens - Jan 1st. So not an expert on this diet but sometimes your body needs a shock, so maybe for a week make sure you are eating all of your fruit and crispbread allowance. See how that goes as your body needs energy to burn fat. Well hope this helps. |

Re: Help Please
Well I know you all say to hang in and it will happen but 1.4 kg in 18 days doesnt do it for me. I am doing a week planner for my consultant of all food I eat. Hopefully she can maybe work something out from that but I dont deviate so dont think so.

Re: Help Please
Hey Bronnie... hope you can get some answers from your consultant!
Have you done any repeat bloodtests to show whether there 'may be' a deviation (sometimes there are false ones, and vice versa) yet? How annoying for you! Sticking to it and not seeing those numbers go down! Best of luck! xoxo Missy

Re: Help Please
Are you by any chance getting less sleep than usual? I know that when my sleep goes down by an hour the weight goes up by a few hundred grams. Also at one point in the program I tried exercising and my weight loss just stalled. It doesn't have to be exercise, but any type of physical strain or stress. Any of that lately in your life?

Re: Help Please
No, nothing like exercise (not in my vocab). My sleep is around 7 1/2 hours a night and only get up once. Best sleeps I have now. Before I would get up 3 or 4 times a night to pee and take forever to get back to sleep. So the only difference is I am back at work from leave.

Re: Help Please
HI bronwyn,
Doing the food diary and getting your consultant to review is a fantastic thing to do. Sometimes we can be inadvertently doing something which is adeviation and not even know it. the devil is in the detail. Have a look at this thread: http://newyouforum.com/forum/showthr...ght=plateauing Something I wrote a while ago but has helped quite a few see their bodies changes in a new light. Rest assured that it will go - just allow that the body ahs its own wisdom. Can you remember another time in your life you were this weight - what was happening? this often provides a clue as to why we get 'stuck' on a particular weight and must do the emotional helaing around that particular weight. hang in there. take lots of notice of the clothes - they tell a big story rather than the scales which should only be used as a guide. Remember you are only supposed to be weighing monthly - this is why. Enjoy the journey - more important than the destination, Shanara
