Default How do you pick your meal

So I was wondering how you pick your meal? Do you go in group order? And how do you pick the meal size?

I always pick the one with the biggest protein allowance! I thought it would be interesting to see if anyone does the same or if you go for more veges and your reasoning behind that?

I usually pick the biggest protein allowance too, especially when it's steak!

I tend to have meal 1 for breakfast and interchange the meal 2 and meal 3s.
When I want a light evening meal, then I'll have a meal 1 for dinner and a meal 2 or 3 for brekkie.

Mixing up the meals usually helps the weight to drop if it has stalled a little!

Hope you are going well on the programme!

Vee

biggest protein allowance for sure. Depending on what I have on hand. Usually it's chicken these days (in the beginning of the programme, I had access to calamari which I loved).

Meal 1 is always the egg option. Even if I had access to yoghurt, it doesn't really fill me up as egg does.

Same same - biggest protein!
Even though I enjoy eating the egg meal most for meal 1, nothing keeps me full like yoghurt does! Isn't it funny, the complete opposite to you little miss!
Although, my fish/veg amounts are the same for meals 2 & 3! Makes it easy!

I choose the one that has the biggest vegs allowance. Not a great fan of protein. Also a bigger allowance of vegs = bigger meal visually

I have egg for breakie, chicken for lunch and fish/prawns for dinner. Always in that order.

Gosh! I am a boring eater!

I rotated through the programme menu daily. I always alternated between the different protein sources, I never had meat poultry or seafood more than once a day, If I had fish for lunch (tuna) I had steak or chicken for supper, if I had stirfried beef for lunch I had chicken or some type of fish fillet for supper. (I always had omelets for breakies though. I found that the little difference between the amount of protein sources didn't make one iota of difference really (mind games only).

I was very boring and went for what was easiest! Mostly I have yoghurt for breakfast especially as this is something I can easily have when I stay in hotels. Eggs are my back up if I cant get the Tamar valley yoghurt (not available in all supermarkets ) Lunch on the road is usually a chicken salad as I can get this at most coffee shops and dinner varies purely according to availability, especially in hotels it depends on what I can get on the menu. Must admit I never considered the size of the protein serve except when it came to chees, as I LOVE cheese!

I choose the more veges less protein for the same reason as Yvette - visually it looks like there is more on the plate. I alternate between an egg and mushy omelette, egg and zucchini fritata or yoghurt for breakfast for variety. Usually have tuna, chicken or cottage cheese for lunch and then a change of either chicken, beef or fish for dinner. I am just getting into some of the yummo recipes on this forum. You guys are amazing with your imagination for preparing food. I am enjoying this too as I used to skip dinner usually because I couldn't be bothered cooking for one but now since I have to eat I am enjoying challenging myself with the different recipes.

Hi can I check with all of you, if your program doesn't say XXXgrams MEAT and XXXgrams vegetables or does it specify the type of meat such as CHICKEN? BEEF?

Mine says something like XXXgrams CHICKEN and XXXg vegetables. Does it mean that I can only eat chicken (breast meat)???

Yes - If it says chicken - it means chicken breast - with the specified amount of veg.
If it says xxx beef - mine gives a different amount of veg. The amount also varies between meals 2 & 3. Hope that helps.

wow ok, we learn something new everyday don't we?? I guess my consultant wasn't specific about this. I have had a deviation (I don't know when) because one of the days I had beef. I am not allowed beef.

me for meals- whatever is easiest. I'll go to the markets on a weekend and buy lots of meat, chicken and sometimes seafood and weigh it out and then through it all in the freezer. I know that for tomorrow night i don't have anything made up so went to the freezer tonight and just chose one of those bags which I presently fancy. Tuna for lunch tomorrow so ended up with beef for dinner. there is no strategy other then finding a different protein to my lunch! - only consistency with me is sunday lunch. it is my must have feta meal in which i buy a one of those large mushrooms and fill it with my veg allowance of tomato, spinach, garlic and a little onion plus naturally then the feta, all slightly fried then baked inside the mushroom.... Heaven on cohens!

Feed the girl meat... I always eat the higher meat quantity cause I dont really like vegie's. LOL. The only time this will differ is if my piece of meat isn't big enough.

*she swears as she realises that fillet steak in 10 grams short of the required ammount*
As for yoghurt - I eat it when I have early starts at work, agg and vegetables otherwise

And cheese is either for a cheesecake (once a month) or lunches when I couldnt be stuffed cooking... or was too lazy to make something the night before and had to rush off to work. But usually I stay away from cheese all together were I can
